I am back and blogging!

Hello Everyone!
Dear Hubby is doing much better, so I am going to be able to blog daily again. Can't believe it has been 5 weeks since his galbladder surgery and finally his back is better and he is able to drive and get around we are both very happy.

I have been doing some sewing in between taking him to Dr's and rehab. Here is a pincushion kit I rec'd from Sandi in my Wool Buddies Yahoo group, it turned out so cute. I put sand in it and I just love it.

I am trying to use up my fabrics so I made 4 of these table toppers and mailed 3 off to friends and family for Valentines day. This fabric makes me think of that strawberry sherbert. It is more of a spring print than Valentines.
I have been making these Pennie Pockets from the Happy Zombie Blog, and I added some candy to them and gave many of these away this Valentines week, you can hang them on your door knob. Very simple and quick. I am hostess for the May garden club, so I think I might make some for the girls in club and put in a seed packet. I have lots of floral fabrics to use up.

Other than that I am working on a 30's repro fabric king size quilt I need 512 4-patch units and so far I have 100 complete. Yesterday I spend the day cutting more 2 inch strips for the quilt and was able to combine 2 containers that hold my 30's -- I still have 2 other larger containers of 30's -- you have to admit you just can't be in a bad mood when you work with 30's.
I hope you all had a great Valentines day.
Til tomorrow when I blog again
Dorothy

First of all, glad to hear hubby is doing better...that is always good.

Secondly, the pin cushion is really cute!!! Plus I love that little table topper - that would be a cool gift for those people that I need to make something for in the Pay It Forward thing I committed to.

I actually use that pattern for a star block that I make...except that I don't cut off the corners. We call it "Morning Star" - but, I'm not sure if that is the actual name of the block.
