Rehab? Wanna Join Me?

Hello!

What a crazy day! It was very windy here today, really not that unusual but the wind just makes it that much colder -- when the wind was not blowing it was probably 65 - but with the wind it was in the 40's BRRR! Due to the high winds today, my boss said no work today -- stay home - so I got a free day! Not really that great when I just started back last week - but I did get some sewing done.

And some surfing done too:) Have you been over to the Pink Pincushion blog, http://pinkpincushion.blogspot.com/
Sinta is having a BOM Rehab and boy do I need to be in Rehab! I bet 50% of my UFO's are BOM!
So I joined up -- and it is easy all you have to do is work on a BOM and then link up to her blog on Mondays. Since I did not work on a BOM this past weekend I did link up yesterday, but I will next week, I was working today on my Jan Patek BOM again.

The block of the Months I am going to tackle first:

Jan Patek from my LQS that is still going on -- want to get current

LQS BOM featuring 1 12 inch Block and 2 inch blocks each month -- need to get current

Birdie Block of the Month - need to complete 3 more blocks

This should keep me on track for a few weeks!!!

So.... will I be seeing you in Rehab?????

Lazy Sunday

Good Morning

How was your weekend? Ours was good, it rained here on Saturday so I had the day off and ended up doing some sewing and Sunday was a wonderful day and we went to the lake and Dear Hubby did some fishing.

But this is all we caught! A bucket of minnows!!!

The man fishing next to us has a huge fish on his line, but it broke his line, I actually got to see it and he was trying to get it in, it was a nice muskie. At least he had a fish tale to tell.

Have a great day!

Quilting Gallery Mini Quilt Swap

Hello!

It has been a busy week, back to work at the garden center, about 3 weeks earlier than most years, the weather has been just AWESOME here, in the 80's all day and 60's at night, seems like we have been transported to Arizona from Northern IL this spring!

I would like to thank Pat from the Quilting Gallery New Beginnings Mini Quilt Swap, this is the AWESOME mini I rec'd on Monday when I got home from work -- I just love 30's as you know so this is really "me"

Pat also sent me some FQ's -- the pink and green 30's is perfect - I am working on a pink and green Schnibble for this month. Pat you must have been peeking in my windows!!! LOL

I also love the browns, I have a couple ideas in my head for those. Thank you so much!!

I better get to bed, 5 AM comes pretty early in the morning!

Another Chair and more recycled crafts

Good Morning!

Here is the chair I finished late on Saturday -- I really love the red ones, but this one is cute too!
Dear Hubby and I went Treasure Hunting last night (north side of town has garbage pick up this morning) And Guess What?!?!?? We found 2 old wood chairs!! Perfect for more chair planters.

And you guessed it, tonight I will be going treasure hunting on the south side of town tonight!

My other thing I have been doing is saving pickle jars, olive jars etc, and making them into pumpkins or snowman for the fall shows. I got 10 of these guys done this weekend too! So glad to have them boxed up and off the counter.

The weather has been fantastic this past week and I have enjoyed painting and crafting in the garage. Today is the first day of prepping the garden center, so I won't have as much free time - but getting back to work is a good thing.

Have a great day Happy Stitches!

Friday night / day Sew In

Good Morning!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Yesterday was Friday night sew in -- and since I will be starting back to work on Monday -- I crafted most of the day yesterday. I have collected 3 chairs that I wanted to make into Chair Planters - I had gotten 2 of them as roadside treasures (you know other peoples trash is my treasure) and 1 I had paid $2 for. The paint is what we have in the garage, so this project cost very little and I think they turned out great.

This is the first one -- It is made of a very hard wood, Dear Hubby had a heck of a time cutting the hole - and of course this is the first one we did, so he was not too thrilled at this point.

This is chair 2 -- I paid $2 for this one -- I should have taken before pictures it was just your normal brown wood chair, with a much softer wood seat, so Dear Hubby was now on board with this project :) You can enlarge this photo and see I painted little green and yellow dots on the back wooden bars.

The 3rd chair is not completed, I have painted it yellow and this morning I plan to finish it. I will post a photo tomorrow.

Then we we came inside I needed to finish up this block for the Jan Patek BOM I am doing, so I finished appliqueing this block.

All in all it was a productive day!

How was your Friday Night Sew In?
