Hello

Since it is spring and the garden center has me pretty busy I just made a small version of this months Schnibbles.
And I have to say I really like it, it will be perfect to put on an end table this summer.

Other than that I did not get anything else done this weekend, I was off on Sunday and Dear Hubby and I ran some errands it was too cold to fish N stitch, then we we got home I finished this.  I have a few more things in the works that I plan on working on Tuesday and Wednesday - those are my days off this week.

Hope all is going well with you

Garage Sale on the way to work

Good Morning

What a great way to start the day, I found a garage sale on my way to work yesterday and here are 2 treasures I got there.  This is a flour sack towel that is embroidered on and I paid 25 cents for it!

The little watermelon basket it is little 6 or 7 inches tall and 6 or 7 inches wide and guess what !?  It was 25 cents too!

I saw a sign for another garage sale last night on the way home, so I am going to leave early today to see if if might be open before work!

Have a great day!

Sneek pek at April Schnibble and Garage sale finds

Good Morning

Well I finally figured out how to add photos but have text above it, just start typing then add the photos!!

Here is my April Schnibbles, actually it is much smaller than the pattern, but it is all I could manage to get done, still need to quilt it and bind it, the goal is to get it done before May 1st.

A friend of mine in town is going to have a garage sale today, so she was nice enough to let me shop early - even thou her ad clearly stated NO EARLY BIRDS!  I guess it truly is who you know!!! :)
I got some fantastic treasures, 2 boxes the one with the quilt saying is wood, perfect for putting a stitchery project in and keep it in the living room and it will look neat.  The other one is a winter theme - that one will be filled with cookies at Christmas time and mailed off.

Then I got this little wall shelf with a drawer and I also got this cute candle holder, perfect for my Americana area -- I will be putting up that next week and removing the spring bunnies -- but first I want to paint that dresser I moved to the living room and I will have Tuesday and Wednesday off next week so that is my plan.

Then I got this cute little wood shelf with a dowel rod, - can't you see a cute little quilt hanging from this.  I might paint it, not sure but I sure do think it has great possibilities!

I am going to leave a little early this morning, just in case I run into a Garage Sale sign!!  Off to work today, have a great day

Americana Swap Thanks Amy!!

Americana Swap From Amy!!
 Good Morning

I can't seem to get the photos in my blog text, really need to get with the new blogger -- but did not have time yesterday to mess with it so my next day off is Sunday so I can fiddle with it then.

When I got home from work on Monday I had a great surprise from Amy my partner for the Americana Prim swap!  I got some really neat things, I love them all.  The doll Amy made and it is so cute -- and it smells good - I think when she grundged it she used a scent, love it!  And what a perfect painting, of a little flower cart with a pig pulling it -- so adorable!!

You know I was talking about getting my stitchery ready for fishin n stitchin with Dear Hubby, how about that flag box,  I think that will work perfect for me and when we get home it can sit on my end table and look all nice and neat!!  Thank you so much Amy!!

I am off to work today, so I don't have time to share my April Schnibbles I made yesterday, due to less time to sew this month I made a much smaller version, but I really like it.  I will share that with you tomorrow.

I did not get as much done in my Creation Station as I wanted, I went treasure hunting in the morning and I found 2 more chairs!!! Now I have 4 to paint that is what I am going to do next Tuesday/Wednesday when I am off.  Then our garden club is having a plant sale on May 12th so I spent part of the morning splitting hostas,  dead nettle and violets -- so far I have 15 plants for the sale and I still have some splitting to do on  the one side of our house.  I really could not dig more I was out of containers -- so I will get more and continue.

Gotta get ready for work!

Rehab report

Good Morning!

Well I am not doing very good in Rehab -- I did not get any more blocks worked on for all of my BOM's!

So tomorrow I am off and that is the first thing I am doing, getting a few birdie stitches ready to stitch, I need to gather all the floss and put it in a stitching on the go container - so I can stitch at lunch.

How your rehab is going better :)  Gosh I can see why all the stars struggle in rehab -- it's hard work!!! LOL

Friday Night Sew In Results

Friday Night Sew Table Runner Finish

Fairy Garden Signs
Good Morning

Since I have not blogged in a week, I am really confused by the new screen, so I can't move my photos this morning.  I have to work today so I don't have time to fiddle with it -- I can see I have something else to add to my TO DO list!!

How have you been?  I have been busy at the garden center - weather has not been that great this week so alot of moving on the annuals to keep them from getting frost bite!  But after tonight there is no chance of frost so life will be a little easier for both me and the annuals ;)

I did sew this weekend and make some Fairy Garden signs.  Fairy Gardens are so popular this year we are selling lots of Fairy Garden items and I saw on 1 website all kinds of sign and thought I could make those so Friday night I made some quick little signs, they were at the shop yesterday and I got several positive comments about them.

I gotta run to get lunch made and get ready for work, working Sundays are not that much fun - I would rather be home with Dear Hubby going fishing and stitching, but next Sunday I am off so I am sure that is the plan.   But for today it is off to work I go.

Fruit Cocktail Tree

Good Morning!

I got no sewing done this weekend . But it was my birthday on Sunday so between working both Saturday and Sunday and celebrating my birthday - sewing took a back seat !

My brother in law is a big time gardener and a month or so ago he told me about this Fruit Cocktail tree -- it basically is a tree that has several fruit trees grafted on it. - I think Apricot, Peaches, Plum and Nectarines. So he ordered 1 for him and 1 for me and he and my sister in law came on on Saturday night to give me my tree and then we went out to dinner. It was a fun evening. But the fun did not stop there, Sunday morning I was up early and I planted my tree -- it is about 2 feet tall and it is just a stick right now. I got to thinking about this fruit cocktail tree and how my brother in laws are joksters, so I thought this was a good one! I took a picture when I planted the tree --here it is...and sent it to my brother in law.

Then when I got home from work I took this photo and sent it to my brother in law! My tree is already producing!!! He got a big kick out of my email!

And yesterday I worked and Dear Hubby picked me up and we went to Famous Daves for some great BBQ! Came home and watched Amazing Race and Celebrity Apprentice and today is the first day back at work for Dear Hubby for the season --so we had to get up at 4 AM this morning.
So far I have gotten up, gave Rudy all his morning meds and he is doing Fantastic! Poochie and I walked 3 1/2 miles, we found a chair on our walk, so I drove over and picked it up and also
found a neat headboard I am going to make into a garden bench, folded laundry and put it away -- now I am going to make my lunch and shower and go to work! Have a great day!

Friday the 13th!

Good Morning!

Are you afraid of Friday the 13th? I try not to be it is just another day. It has been so dry here this spring and this weekend alot of rain is predicted so I hope we don't need to build an arc-- hopefully the 13th won't have any affect on the weather.

I have just been working on binding a table runner after work yesterday. And I did cut out a wool applique -- more pictures in the next day or two.

Update on Rudy -- he did not have any seizures or as we call them "episodes" and was just fine yesterday, so thank you for thinking and praying for him. Hopefully today will be another good day for him :)

Off to get some chores done before work today!

Sick Pup, Gardening and a Project

Hello

Well to start off with I came home from work on Monday and things were just fine then at about 6:30 Rudy started to whine and shake, something was going on, his eyes were darting from side to side and I thought this is it. He is 12 1/2 and I love him to pieces, but he still has some more good years -- so it is now 5 to 7 and Dear Hubby says we better take him to the vet -- OK this is serious when Dear Hubby says we are going to the vet, so he called and told them we are on the way -- as we were driving he was getting better but now panting and still looking freaked out. When we get there the vet was waiting and she examined him and thinks he had old dog syndrome when they have little seizures like this or vertigo -- so she treats him for vertigo, so he is now on motion sickness meds. She took some blood and he was doing better so we all came home. Yesterday the vet calls and says his liver counts are not right - nothing to be too concerned about but he should be on a medicine for this and since he does have some hip issues a anti-inflammatory medicine too! Cha Ching $333 later - he is doing well, or so we thought this morning he had another seizure, and after about 2 hours he was back to normal. Of course I called the vet to let her know and it is her day off, so I will see what she has to say tomorrow. I am not going to worry too much as he comes out of these just fine. So keep Rudy in your prayers if you don't mind.

After Rudys little episode today I decided to work in the creek side garden today and he was down there sniffing and investigating everything like he normally does. The garden is the entire length of the property out back so I edged it all and pulled all the weeds, it was quite a project it took about 5 hours, but it looks so much better -- here are some photos -- can't wait to be able to plant the impatiens down there and it really looks so much nicer with more color other than green.

I also spent some time in the Creation Station in the past 2 days I have been home and was working on this quick and simple table runner from the Moda Bake Shop. I have it quilted and the binding is sewn on the front I just need to sew it down in the back, plan to get that done tomorrow night.

Tonight is Garden Club -- looking forward to it, we are making cement stepping stones for the Garden Faire next month.

Hope all is good with you - thanks for stopping by!

Block Rehab and Easter Flowers

Good Morning

How was your Easter? Ours was quiet, ended up going fishing with Dear Hubby and then we had a fish boil for dinner, no not fish Hubby caught, fish we caught at the grocery store. It was very good.

While Dear Hubby fishes, I stitch! And I have been working on my hand stitching BOM - this one is from the LQS it is the Jan Patek BOM. I am enjoying this one, I am making little tiny black stitches near the edge of each applique, I think it gives it a more prim look. This block is complete, I am still behind in my group so I need to step it up a bit.

I also got the stitching done on this block this week, it really does work if you work a little each day, and I finished the stitching last night watch Celebrity Apprentice. I still need to border the block and of course trim it up....but it is on its way.

So I did very good in my block rehab this past week, WOW this rehab is harder than I thought!!

And here is a photo of my Easter flowers I picked from my garden -- tulips and lilacs, this crazy weather, I don't remember when the lilacs were blooming at Easter.

Off to work today, but I am off Tuesday and Wednesday this week-- Tuesday I will be working in the garden for part of the day and then sewing -- pretty much same plan for Wednesday -- hopefully I can stick to the plan!

Happy Easter!

Good Morning and Happy Easter!

I hope the Easter bunny was good to you :) We are spending a quiet day at home, maybe doing a little work in the garden. Not sure yet, it is early and Dear Hubby announced he is bored -- my goodness it is 8:30 in the morning - -I have a list a mile long :) So we will see what we do today.

Here is what I have been up to this week, the Garden Center was open all week and it was slow early in the week and we were really busy yesterday -- so it was a good week, but I was tired when I got home so I did not get much sewing done.

As part of the Quilting Book club on Flickr - we had to pick a charm pack project or other precut project -- I only have a few charm packs so I picked 2! I have always wanted to do these 2 table runners so this just pushes me to do them.

The first on is really easy you don't even cut the charms -- and I have sewn all the charms up already but I don't have a photo of that yet. I am using a Mary Englebrieght group of charms. And you use rick rack on this and I have 3 colors to pick from yellow, red or green so I am going to have to make a big decision here!!

The other project is where you cut the charms and and then do some turning of them -- I am using a Fig Tree group for this. I have not started on this one yet.

Last Sunday Dear Hubby wanted to go fishing so we went to a new lake, and on the way we got to drive thru this covered bridge! It was so awesome!

And then here are a couple pictures of the lake, - this is one of my new favorite spots! We had a nice time but once again no fish!

Here is where he fished for a few hours -- and I stitched. I will show you my stitchery I have been working on tomorrow, cause I want to finish the block today.

Well I hope you have a happy Easter and spend it with your family.
