I have not blogged all year. So much has happened this year. We lost our dear Poochie May 4th, she was 15 and battled kidney disease for 3 years. She is truly missed each day. <br />
<br />
In June we adopted an 8 week old Dalmatian Pepper, between her and Lucas we are very busy, both have been in obedience and trick classes.<br />
<br />
I know have this app n my iPad so I can update more.<br />
<br />
Have a Merry Christmas<br />

<br />
This has been a finish up weekend! It was a nice 3 day weekend with really no plans so I got a ton of projects complete and more that just need binding. Most of these were out of my tote of unfinished from last year and a few new projects, but remember if I finish a couple I could make something new :)<br />
<br />
Well first up is my something new! Last week I made a dalmatian purse/tote - This week I started these on Wednesday night and finished up Saturday morning -- I am keeping the pink and green on and the other 2 will be sold at shows or Etsy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4AVvzinhrPo/VqWS7dEeXNI/AAAAAAAACkU/GZKU9OzXvkU/s1600/Tote%2Bbags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4AVvzinhrPo/VqWS7dEeXNI/AAAAAAAACkU/GZKU9OzXvkU/s320/Tote%2Bbags.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This was unfinished from last year -- all I needed to do with layer, and quilt it and it is done!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-89sZZ6lKiPU/VqWOoY214YI/AAAAAAAACjE/AH2QC9tPqEE/s1600/Halloween%2BTopper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-89sZZ6lKiPU/VqWOoY214YI/AAAAAAAACjE/AH2QC9tPqEE/s320/Halloween%2BTopper.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This tablerunner I made the top at our Winter Girls GetAway Weekend and finally finished it this weekend, I layered, quilted and bound it! Yeah! Another one done -- this is for our dining room for this summer!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aZKWm4r7-5U/VqWOyLbzPpI/AAAAAAAACjU/BPdYS_05NoA/s1600/Retreat%2Btable%2Brunner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aZKWm4r7-5U/VqWOyLbzPpI/AAAAAAAACjU/BPdYS_05NoA/s320/Retreat%2Btable%2Brunner.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I had 4 of these blue striped bibs and they needed something! Well I think the snowman applique was what they needed! All 4 complete! More in the For Sale Bin!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jB9Zp2fPBQk/VqWOs6kZnwI/AAAAAAAACjM/Prg1Cdt5nrk/s1600/Snowman%2BBib.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jB9Zp2fPBQk/VqWOs6kZnwI/AAAAAAAACjM/Prg1Cdt5nrk/s320/Snowman%2BBib.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Our JoAnns closed in October -- so hubby and I went out to dinner near a SUPERSTORE JoAnns and I ran in for a few minutes, go this cute doggie print for valentines day and had the other fabrics, and made 2 pillowcases last night! These will go to my nieces 2 little ones, they will love them I hope! This was a new project :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iMp3qZ69XNM/VqWPBkvhtcI/AAAAAAAACjc/TvzQHVwu2P4/s1600/Valentine%2BPillowcases.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iMp3qZ69XNM/VqWPBkvhtcI/AAAAAAAACjc/TvzQHVwu2P4/s320/Valentine%2BPillowcases.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Another new project, these are super simple -- zipper pouch by Cotton Way - I bought the pattern on Friday and just had to try it! I will be making lots of these -- but I have to complete a few more things then I can make more!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ICmU6cepEIE/VqWPIQzGUMI/AAAAAAAACjk/_dF_keQuhps/s1600/Zipper%2BPouch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ICmU6cepEIE/VqWPIQzGUMI/AAAAAAAACjk/_dF_keQuhps/s320/Zipper%2BPouch.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
These pillow cases were cut and ready to sew last February -- well guess what in about a 1/2 hour they were done!! And they will be mailed off March first for the March birthdays missed last year!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KYEirzuEFuU/VqWRNLVDbWI/AAAAAAAACkA/RP-B-uAJY1E/s1600/birthday%2Bpillowcases.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KYEirzuEFuU/VqWRNLVDbWI/AAAAAAAACkA/RP-B-uAJY1E/s320/birthday%2Bpillowcases.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Well I would say that was a pretty productive weekend! <br />
<br />
Now for some fun pictures of Lucas and Poochie -- here they are playing in the sewing rooom!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GyOxWe4hMhg/VqWRI-9sOcI/AAAAAAAACjw/B0Bg6eyqPuY/s1600/Lucas%2Band%2BPoochie%2Bin%2Bsewing%2Broom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GyOxWe4hMhg/VqWRI-9sOcI/AAAAAAAACjw/B0Bg6eyqPuY/s320/Lucas%2Band%2BPoochie%2Bin%2Bsewing%2Broom.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I think Lucas is not willing to share his toy today!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1_BsqzvVl00/VqWRNQHKrYI/AAAAAAAACkE/ClnYqjyuagc/s1600/Lucas%2Band%2BPoochie%2Bwith%2BToy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1_BsqzvVl00/VqWRNQHKrYI/AAAAAAAACkE/ClnYqjyuagc/s320/Lucas%2Band%2BPoochie%2Bwith%2BToy.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
And this is a cute picture of what I wake up to! He is really bringing life back into the house! We are lucky to have him!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cJ1tVZ41BCI/VqWRLi9_eYI/AAAAAAAACj4/RYdhJYvRYzw/s1600/Lucas%2BCute%2BPicture.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cJ1tVZ41BCI/VqWRLi9_eYI/AAAAAAAACj4/RYdhJYvRYzw/s320/Lucas%2BCute%2BPicture.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
I hope you had a good weekend and got lots done!<br /><br />
Happy Stitches!<br />Dorothy<br />

It is already January 17th! We had a very busy fall and beginning of winter! The end of September brought us an 8 month old dalmatian rescue... Introducing Lucas! Here he and Poochie are telling Santa what they want for Christmas! I think their Christmas list was fulfilled and they are both happy. After Patches left, Poochie was very sad and we were very sad. Lucas became available and he needed a home and we needed a puppy to love, and they say the rest is history. He just turned a year old this month and is attending obedience school but the first 8 months of his life he had very little training so he is a challenge. But the love he gives is worth it.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RvXmt21swSQ/VpwyhXFK0aI/AAAAAAAACiE/eCvEvu8MtR4/s1600/Lucas%2Band%2BPoochie%2Bwith%2BSanta.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RvXmt21swSQ/VpwyhXFK0aI/AAAAAAAACiE/eCvEvu8MtR4/s320/Lucas%2Band%2BPoochie%2Bwith%2BSanta.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have been trying to finish up things from last year before starting new projects, so far I have finished more than I started so I would say I am doing well! This is a baby quilt that will be donated to my quilt guild -- I started it last summer and finally got it quilted and bound this weekend. So glad to have this ready to turn in at our meeting this month. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
OK now this is a new project, but I had to make one I saw it on the web and thought it would be a cute mug rug, so I made this last weekend. Quick and easy! this was a new project....one for one so far!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aJYrZV4kd94/VpwyAstDyLI/AAAAAAAAChs/Y8ibybCNsw8/s1600/Heart%2Bmug%2Brug%2B-%2BCopy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aJYrZV4kd94/VpwyAstDyLI/AAAAAAAAChs/Y8ibybCNsw8/s320/Heart%2Bmug%2Brug%2B-%2BCopy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is also a new project, I wanted a red purse for February -- for Valentines days and for Go Red for Women in February so today I shopped my stash and made a bag that is perfect for me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L2lzu_-VcxQ/VpwytAY_ANI/AAAAAAAACiU/SwsqacPTA1U/s1600/Red%2BDalmatian%2BPurse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L2lzu_-VcxQ/VpwytAY_ANI/AAAAAAAACiU/SwsqacPTA1U/s320/Red%2BDalmatian%2BPurse.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
This is a finish from last year I had the 4 patches done but nothing else, so last weekend I added the applique heart and now I have a new candle mat. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-o2FVpZUnySM/Vpwy96lmmmI/AAAAAAAACic/a-9mCMST-3g/s1600/Valentines%2Bday%2Bcandle%2Bmat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-o2FVpZUnySM/Vpwy96lmmmI/AAAAAAAACic/a-9mCMST-3g/s320/Valentines%2Bday%2Bcandle%2Bmat.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
These mug rugs were to be at a show in December, well as you can see that did not happen -- but I have 4 of the 6 I started done, and 2 more need the binding sewn on ...wich I will do tonight when I am done updating my blog! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AgkXc9O0OW0/VpwzBlOTfTI/AAAAAAAACik/f4p5qHXPIrc/s1600/Winter%2BMug%2BRugs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AgkXc9O0OW0/VpwzBlOTfTI/AAAAAAAACik/f4p5qHXPIrc/s320/Winter%2BMug%2BRugs.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Also finished 2 Halloween table runners from last year. So I am pretty pleased at my finishes so far this month -- I have a rubbermaid tote of items not finished from 2015 -- so I am trying to turn that into a tote of things for shows this year. I will keep you posted on this!<br />
<br />
Lots of blog things going on too Bee In My Bonnet starts her sew along tomorrow I want to participate it and I am embroidering blocks from Sentimental Stitches blog and then Buttermilk Basin has a wool project that is going on too! I have plenty to do with these new projects and my old projects. So I am sure to keep very busy this year<br />
<br />
I hope 2016 is going to be a great year for you!<br />
Happy Stitches<br />

<br />
<br />
I loved doing the Schnibbles every month and have tried to work on the mini quilts and projects, but never seem to get them done by the first....until today! I love this little quilt -- I think I will make some more for Spring time gifts, it is a cute table topper or wall hanging. <br />

Here is the tribute my husband and I wrote for her that was on facebook : </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It is with great sadness that we have to tell you we lost our
precious Patches to cancer today. We would like to thank all the caring
people who helped bring Patches into our lives. If you never believed in
love at first sight, you would if you had met Patches. See was quick to
give love and happy to receive it. She was such a good girl and a joy
to have. She excelled at her obedience school as well her agility and
nose work classes. Patches loved to travel and we took her al<span class="text_exposed_show">most
everywhere we went. From the hot sunny beaches of Texas to the bone
chilling blizzards of Illinois she loved them both. She got to lay in
the grass and enjoy the view of the mighty Mississippi. Then stopped by
to see if the American Pickers were around. Her favorite trip was when
she got her picture taken at the Gates of Graceland and sampled some of
the best barbeque Memphis had to offer. </span><br />
<div class="text_exposed_show">
Patches didn't get to go to as many places as we would have liked. But
the most important place she did go was straight to our hearts It is
there that she will remain forever.<br />
<br />
It has been a month and I am still heartbroken and miss her terribly.<br />

<br />
After my last post I really thought I could do a better job of blogging... then we had a bad day.... Our Sweet Patches seemed to be breathing odd... so we took her to the emergency vet on Sunday June 28th and they said her chest cavity was full of fluids, so they had to keep her to drain it -- Monday the call came in that she has T-Cell Lymphoma -- she is just 21 months old! This doesn't even strike dogs til they are 8 - 9 years old and not even usually found in dalmatians -- so we opted to bring her home. She came home June 30th and it doing ok. <br />
<br />
Long term is not good, they estimate she will be with us about 4 weeks. We are just heartbroken.<br />
<br />

<br />
On a better note, I did promised a picture of my latest completed UFO -- here it is -- it is about 17 years old and was a round robin that was done from an internet group.<br />

<br />
Wow the last post I did was APRIL... time flies!<br />
<br />
Hope all is well in your corner of the world.<br />
<br />
Here is a little recap of what we have done the past 2 months -- hung out in Belllevue Iowa in April -- there is Poochie and Patches over looking the mighty Mississippi <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SMsFjpmP3H4/VYd4pyC4AAI/AAAAAAAACek/V4m7jHelT60/s1600/Patches%2Band%2BPoochie%2BIn%2BBellvue%2BIowa%2BApril%2B18%2B2015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SMsFjpmP3H4/VYd4pyC4AAI/AAAAAAAACek/V4m7jHelT60/s320/Patches%2Band%2BPoochie%2BIn%2BBellvue%2BIowa%2BApril%2B18%2B2015.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

I was wondering about a new name for my Pickin and sewing business It seems like everyone has a cute name.....well Introducing Patches N Pickens -- now everyone thinks Patches if for Patches our dalmatian -- it could be but I thought Patches of fabric in my quilted items! and of course Pickens from my picked items. <br />
Found some old wood and made this sign for my booth. Speaking of my booth -- under my name sign is 2 pictures from the Pec Thing -- lots of neat things that I created from other peoples trash! Love it!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Then this brings it to this weekend...Strawberry Picking! I used to go with my mom and our neighbor Rose all the time as a kid and loved it. SO this weekend I told Dear Hubby we were going to go ..... went today and only picked 6 containers -- Here is about 13 pounds of strawberries! It was a great day for picking. I will definetly do this every year. I loved it as a kid and still love it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gC1r0yvIr3U/VYd5yT2ZiQI/AAAAAAAACfI/SA2Be6aYXtk/s1600/Strawberry%2BJam.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gC1r0yvIr3U/VYd5yT2ZiQI/AAAAAAAACfI/SA2Be6aYXtk/s320/Strawberry%2BJam.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
And this afternoon so fat from 1/2 of the berries I picked I have 10 pints of strawberry jam and 7 pints of strawberry rhubarb jam. And tomorrow after work I will be using up the rest of the berries. These will be some nice Christmas gifts and I love homemade jam in the winter, Just reminds me of the summer day I picked the berries.. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yxA8YUbY82A/VYd59WnPs6I/AAAAAAAACfg/NBvN9tAUHHg/s1600/Garage%2BSale%2BFind%2B--%2BFabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yxA8YUbY82A/VYd59WnPs6I/AAAAAAAACfg/NBvN9tAUHHg/s320/Garage%2BSale%2BFind%2B--%2BFabric.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Speaking of picking.....I went to an estate sale of a quilter and I got this 20+ yards of fabric and 8 books for $2 -- it was fill a bag day. Unbelievable I am so happy -- I can make lots of things with this and I also got batting for $1 -- such a nice deal . Love when you save money on things you actually use!<br />
<br />
Well that is about it for now. I have to take a picture of my latest UFO I completed. this month and of my Farm Girl Vintage blocks I am working on. Hopefully this week I can update all of that!<br /><br />
Happy Stitches!<br />

<br />
Yesterday my group went to a quilt show and it was very inspiring! Here are just a few of my favorite quilts. The red really pops on this one. And I would have never thought to put red in a a pink and gray quilt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9-jz7WYBwtY/VSsK1wd6G5I/AAAAAAAACcw/M_kO9n3A7Os/s1600/gray%2Band%2Bpink%2Bquilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9-jz7WYBwtY/VSsK1wd6G5I/AAAAAAAACcw/M_kO9n3A7Os/s1600/gray%2Band%2Bpink%2Bquilt.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I just love 30's quilts.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ap8lnxQIGxE/VSsOz8IEk-I/AAAAAAAACdM/7ye3A5TIwJQ/s1600/30%27s%2Bfan%2Bquilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ap8lnxQIGxE/VSsOz8IEk-I/AAAAAAAACdM/7ye3A5TIwJQ/s1600/30's%2Bfan%2Bquilt.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This one is really neat a 30's of course! It is a 9 patch in a round setting. Very interesting. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UHTj7MC973E/VSsOzQpvJvI/AAAAAAAACdE/PYqsBEiTo9M/s1600/30%27s%2B9%2Bpatch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UHTj7MC973E/VSsOzQpvJvI/AAAAAAAACdE/PYqsBEiTo9M/s1600/30's%2B9%2Bpatch.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This one just made me smile -- the cow is from many different fabrics, really fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yxQAAfSpt3Y/VSsKq6sayZI/AAAAAAAACcg/YMjeJ3lkiQs/s1600/Cow%2BQuilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yxQAAfSpt3Y/VSsKq6sayZI/AAAAAAAACcg/YMjeJ3lkiQs/s1600/Cow%2BQuilt.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This was just one block -- and it is 3 Dimensional -- I just thought it was very sweet.<br />

<br />
Spring has finally arrived in Northern Illinois. The weather yesterday was wonderful, this past weekend was cold and gloomy winters last blast I think. I did get several things done in March I use my scraps from the receiving blanket, bib and burp cloth sets and made this flannel baby quilt.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VZ6HkWgchD0/VRu-O1B5n4I/AAAAAAAACbg/pNJ7Udt8w3o/s1600/Blue%2Bflannel%2Bquilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VZ6HkWgchD0/VRu-O1B5n4I/AAAAAAAACbg/pNJ7Udt8w3o/s1600/Blue%2Bflannel%2Bquilt.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I had an order for a pink and grey with some yellow baby quilt and this was a new pattern I picked up. Really like the way it turned out. Have a second one almost done. It does together very quick and I love the big squares for the focus fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dwK9IUDKH-g/VRu-ZJ_KVlI/AAAAAAAACbo/R60ogrUbyt0/s1600/Pink%2Band%2BGray%2Bbaby%2B%2BQuilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dwK9IUDKH-g/VRu-ZJ_KVlI/AAAAAAAACbo/R60ogrUbyt0/s1600/Pink%2Band%2BGray%2Bbaby%2B%2BQuilt.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Picked up a jelly roll super cheap on sale and made this quick modern type table runner - I have lots more of the jelly roll so I will make several more runners for upcoming shows.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8TFFlgThJhg/VRu-gCy6yJI/AAAAAAAACbw/W1RE9JQxvUU/s1600/Modern%2BTable%2Brunner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8TFFlgThJhg/VRu-gCy6yJI/AAAAAAAACbw/W1RE9JQxvUU/s1600/Modern%2BTable%2Brunner.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And drumroll please..... Here is my Schnibles of the month --- it was the Sampler Pattern - I had great plans to get all 13 blocks done, but I only got 5 done -- lots more in the progress so I will have have to see project I will make with the extra pieces I love the Hexie shape I have a perfect table for this so I will quilt and bind this week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Dear Hubby had his knee surgery and is doing so much better, Poochie was taken into the vet on an emergency type situation - ended up to be a very simple fix she had gotten one of her food kibble stuck in her gum vet got it out and she is now on soft food -- then 5 days after that event she was playing with the neighbor dog and then that dog decided to attack her and luckily we got them seperated in the nick of time - both she and I were shook up but she was fine - not sure where the fight came from they were great buddies last summer and the few times they saw each other this winter. <br />
Patches is in agility training and doing very well.<br />
<br />
Well that is all for today. See me waving...Thanks for stopping by<br />

<br />
How have you been? Can't believe it is March already!!! Time is flying this year. Dear Hubby has a torn meniscus and is having surgery on Friday -- so things have been a little hectic around here with Dr appointments and such.<br />
<br />
I have been sewing alot --I went on a retreat and we played Left Right Center and we used charms - red - white - black or any combo. I had printed this project from Moda Bake shop <br />
http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/04/strippy-charm-pouch.html<br />
It is so easy -- after the game I made this dalmatian wristlet -- Perfect for me.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Il5hFS-mtfg/VPUzp22QbPI/AAAAAAAACZY/ovXf5WAtmEI/s1600/Dalmatian%2BWristlet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Il5hFS-mtfg/VPUzp22QbPI/AAAAAAAACZY/ovXf5WAtmEI/s1600/Dalmatian%2BWristlet.jpg" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Since I have been home I have been making them like crazy - I have made over a dozen - love this orange and green -- so much like spring - it just makes you feel happy!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y8562NMiVu8/VPUz6l3-dCI/AAAAAAAACZg/mOqBt8m11Rg/s1600/green%2Band%2Borange%2Bpaisley%2Bwristlet%2B%231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y8562NMiVu8/VPUz6l3-dCI/AAAAAAAACZg/mOqBt8m11Rg/s1600/green%2Band%2Borange%2Bpaisley%2Bwristlet%2B%231.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I have a slight obsession with cupcakes and have some fabric - wih cupcakes on it -- here is one of the ones I made. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EQvyG32Fn6g/VPU0T41IvqI/AAAAAAAACZo/p0dqdFF6hzY/s1600/cupcake%2Bbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EQvyG32Fn6g/VPU0T41IvqI/AAAAAAAACZo/p0dqdFF6hzY/s1600/cupcake%2Bbag.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
And of course if Spring is around the corner -- baseball season is getting closer -- here is my Cubs Wristlet perfect for a day at Wrigley.<br />

$1.99! What a bargain! Can't wait to put it out this summer.<br />
<br />
Well Summer is a little far away still -- here are some pictures of the girls last week. Yes my friends summer is a long way off. Snow is still on the ground and more is coming tonight. <br />

<br />
I have been doing a little shopping at Goodwell lately and found some great things! Some of my pictures won't load onto my blog so I will have to try again -- I found a great kids rocker that I can repaint and a metal aqua colander. And I did get this wood box that I am going to make into a planter -- I think I will repaint it a fun color and plant some petunia in it -- Always nice to think of Spring on a cold winter day.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_NGOEMALC2w/VLX1aiqRGFI/AAAAAAAACYo/8qvjNoG47f8/s1600/Goodwill%2Bfinds%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_NGOEMALC2w/VLX1aiqRGFI/AAAAAAAACYo/8qvjNoG47f8/s1600/Goodwill%2Bfinds%2B2.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have been buying the girls their toys at the the pet store and then my friend suggested I get some stuffed animals at Goodwill for 50 cents each -- that sure beats $7 - $10 each! I got Poochie a great green parrot she takes it everywhere and loves to hide it on Patches! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cDvFhYC16ZQ/VLX102bE8KI/AAAAAAAACY4/0XvMIOoS1jY/s1600/Poochie%2Band%2BPatches%2B1%2B9%2B15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qgFDcCmMjcA/VLX1vNn3hMI/AAAAAAAACYw/Socw_uhdnDo/s1600/Poochie%2Bwith%2Bher%2Bparrot%2Btoy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qgFDcCmMjcA/VLX1vNn3hMI/AAAAAAAACYw/Socw_uhdnDo/s1600/Poochie%2Bwith%2Bher%2Bparrot%2Btoy.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hXZC-aLwyDs/VLX2LFF3MSI/AAAAAAAACZI/meGUR3nyDcs/s1600/Patches%2Bwith%2Bher%2Breindeer%2Btoy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hXZC-aLwyDs/VLX2LFF3MSI/AAAAAAAACZI/meGUR3nyDcs/s1600/Patches%2Bwith%2Bher%2Breindeer%2Btoy.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Patches got a cute reindeer as you can see she is a bit rougher than Poochie and she has some of the stuffing out of it already -- not to worry I have a bag of stuffed toys in the closet -- I spent a few bucks and got a big bag full.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have done a little sewing I finished this snowman table topper -- it was a Quick Quilt Saturday project. I want to <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k1foKswhGSc/VLX2A8M4ZPI/AAAAAAAACZA/vhiLbFJTTYM/s1600/Snowman%2BTable%2Brunner%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k1foKswhGSc/VLX2A8M4ZPI/AAAAAAAACZA/vhiLbFJTTYM/s1600/Snowman%2BTable%2Brunner%2B1.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
make several more for shows next year. So I better get moving!<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by! What have you been up too?<br />

<br />
Happy New Year! I can't believe it is already Jan 5th! I was off work for the past 17 days -- it was wonderful! Spent time in my sewing room, playing with my girls and even took a trip with Dear Hubby to Memphis, had wonderful barbeque and went to see Graceland. <br />
<br />
Now this morning I wake up at 4:30 and it is below zero ARGGG -- but I just wanted to say Happy New Year and show a few pictures.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Now on to Quilting 2015 -- so many people are selecting their "word" for the year -- Mine is going to be SIMPLIFY -- I have gotten out of some Yahoo Quilting groups -- I love them but there is just way too many emails to go thru and I could better spend my time sewing. I was also going to do a BOM at the LQS but after I cleaned up my sewing room - I realized I have plenty to work on - so I am going to do Pat Sloans BOM free on line and here is Block 1. I am going to us up some of my pink and brown fabrics.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-URZM0ISKdoA/VKpyt6PeFsI/AAAAAAAACYY/g0k6FHb1Dh8/s1600/Pat%2BSloan%2BBlock%2B1%2BJanuary.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-URZM0ISKdoA/VKpyt6PeFsI/AAAAAAAACYY/g0k6FHb1Dh8/s1600/Pat%2BSloan%2BBlock%2B1%2BJanuary.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I will also continue in the Scnibbles group and Small project group -- and I am in a Quick Quilt projects on Facebook -- but I have cut out a few things so I feel I am doing good! <br />
I am determined to finish at least 12 UFO's this year -- in face this weekend I quilted up 6 small UFO's not really able to count them all -- since some are just blocks I am converted to table squares -- but I am at least moving them into the finished pile. I will work on binding them this week as I watch TV at night<br />
<br />
Well I need to get ready for work -- have a great day!<br />
<br />
Happy Stitches<br />

<br />
Happy Holidays!! So much has been going on here, craft shows, obedience school for Patches, some sewing for the craft shows, and work!<br />
<br />
I did get the small quilt project done this month so I wanted to be in the parade -- so glad i have these things they force me to get my blog updated. Only 4 more days of work and then I will be off for 2 weeks -- really need a break and need to catch up on my sewing projects.<br />
<br />
Today Poochie and Patches went to camp and Poochie had a spa day -- she looks so great all washed and brushed. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cUcBtSeQiD0/VIvbHSdhz4I/AAAAAAAACXQ/NYal6vTRlb4/s1600/100_0311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cUcBtSeQiD0/VIvbHSdhz4I/AAAAAAAACXQ/NYal6vTRlb4/s1600/100_0311.JPG" height="240" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My small quilt project is going to hang on this shelf, so you guessed it it is Gingerbread boy themed. Love all my gingerbread stuff in my kitchen and dining room. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bVNXjkQoxuw/VIvZ9EY6okI/AAAAAAAACWo/gcRieiatx9A/s1600/Gingerbread%2Bhouse%2Bshelf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bVNXjkQoxuw/VIvZ9EY6okI/AAAAAAAACWo/gcRieiatx9A/s1600/Gingerbread%2Bhouse%2Bshelf.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
We have our computer desk in the dining room and I put my gingerbread village out on the top shelf. the 2 on the ends were made from unfinished wood bird houses that I got at Micheal's many years ago and we got all the "candy" we glued on them at Micheal's also - my mom painted them and we worked on decorating them together -- they are very special to me. She just loved Christmas so much -- i am sure she is smiling down to see I have really expanded my gingerbread village with lots of other houses.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9IpRt545NaI/VIvaRG5FxgI/AAAAAAAACW4/N7JIIA7OfQM/s1600/Gingerbread%2Bhouses%2Bpart%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9IpRt545NaI/VIvaRG5FxgI/AAAAAAAACW4/N7JIIA7OfQM/s1600/Gingerbread%2Bhouses%2Bpart%2B2.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I got the little house from the local bakery for $2 -- it is so cute I also have a kit to make a real gingerbread house might get that done this weekend.<br />
<br />
And here is my small project -- I hope you like it, I think it turned out cute -- need to quilt and bind it this weekend. One of the best parts of this is -- it is all stuff I had on hand -- I just love when projects use up some stash!<br />
. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is my gingerbread tree in the dining room -- it is one of those alpine trees, I cover it at the end of the season and store it in the basement -- so easy to put up each year. </div>
<br />

<br />
<br />
Of course I have to put a picture of Patches in this post too....looks like she is settled in doesn't it. She just loves life with us. She has been in obedience school and we have advanced to the Advance class in about 6weeks, we start in Advanced tomorrow, we are so excited to see what we will be learning, she is a quick learner and loves to please. I am so happy she is part of our lives.<br />

<br />
Where does the time go??<br />
<br />
It was just the end of August .....a month ago! Oh My!<br />
<br />
Part of where did the time go...is right here....our new addition to the family...Introducing.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>PATCHES </b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
She is just turned 1 last week, she is a rescue from Houston Texas, yes we live in Northern Illinois -- an amazing group of people help transport her over Labor day weekend. If you have never been part of a transport, Oh my it is so over whelming the out pour of goodness in people -- it was a wonderful experience and I will definetly help an animal in need of a transport in the future.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
She is fitting in nicely and is just a sweetie. This is here on her first day or so here, she was glued to that bed, it came from her original mom. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JEEamNvqfM8/VCvS4s0HNRI/AAAAAAAACVw/myplLOsTmrA/s1600/100_0194.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JEEamNvqfM8/VCvS4s0HNRI/AAAAAAAACVw/myplLOsTmrA/s1600/100_0194.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UOKIepxJWRg/VCvTEzIfPGI/AAAAAAAACV4/gxnWmgjQ65w/s1600/Poochie%2Band%2BPatches%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UOKIepxJWRg/VCvTEzIfPGI/AAAAAAAACV4/gxnWmgjQ65w/s1600/Poochie%2Band%2BPatches%2B1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
These 2 pictures were taken just the other day.. it was a little adjustment period for Poochie - Patches thought she was the boss and we all know that Princess Poochie is the boss! But all is well and they get along well. In the photo about I think Patches was barking at me. In the photo below - look at Poochie -- her face just looks like she is so happy with her new sister.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Cn10aCdgNEo/VCvTHbU5fCI/AAAAAAAACWA/JvWyPh_uCjw/s1600/Poochie%2Band%2BPatches%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Cn10aCdgNEo/VCvTHbU5fCI/AAAAAAAACWA/JvWyPh_uCjw/s1600/Poochie%2Band%2BPatches%2B2.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Now on to Schibbles business -- I was very lucky in September I won the gift from Carrie, oh my talk about being over whelmed -- I recieved 2 sets of patterns and 3 layer cakes. It is an awesome gift! Thank you so much Carrie!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4bWEFuTlS3Y/VCvTVqK5iYI/AAAAAAAACWI/_2lisHy0MtY/s1600/Winnings.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4bWEFuTlS3Y/VCvTVqK5iYI/AAAAAAAACWI/_2lisHy0MtY/s1600/Winnings.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
OK on to my part of the parade....since it was a very busy month I only made a Halloween table topper - that still needs to be quilted and bound -- but I just love the way it turned out I hope you like it too! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Pi6URFJlfT8/VCvTfG-pbpI/AAAAAAAACWQ/ZNeH-uFdLQY/s1600/100_0242.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Pi6URFJlfT8/VCvTfG-pbpI/AAAAAAAACWQ/ZNeH-uFdLQY/s1600/100_0242.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
This Tutorial is for the Quick Quilt Saturday Group on Facebook -- I will update my blog about my other projects tomorrow!<br />
<br />
Here is the tutorial:<br />
<br />
You need<br />
<br />
1 piece of fabric cut 14 x 18 inches<br />
1/4 " Ribbon 30" inches<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is my fabric 14 x 18 inches<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KqkzFqhONcg/U63n0t-d0XI/AAAAAAAACTI/zWPfDwzPwiU/s1600/STEP+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KqkzFqhONcg/U63n0t-d0XI/AAAAAAAACTI/zWPfDwzPwiU/s1600/STEP+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Fold fabric in 1/2 it should measure 9 x 14 inches -- You will sew on the short seam -- in this picture it is the bottom where the fabric meets<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LkXFQtEmo0c/U63oJ4u7ztI/AAAAAAAACTY/l_nhasP_IZA/s1600/STEP+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LkXFQtEmo0c/U63oJ4u7ztI/AAAAAAAACTY/l_nhasP_IZA/s1600/STEP+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then press seam open and lay it with the seam in the back -- now measure down 2 1/2 inches - make sure it is even and sew a 1/4 inch from the bottom and them a little larger than a 1/2 inch above the first sewing line -- this makes your casing for your ribbon<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tcd7sO8RRxE/U63oY9wGvTI/AAAAAAAACTg/CvFqYLyoLu0/s1600/STEP+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tcd7sO8RRxE/U63oY9wGvTI/AAAAAAAACTg/CvFqYLyoLu0/s1600/STEP+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here it is sewn up and a picture from where your back seam is -- You now need to sew across the bottom of the tissue cover. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rvVOcFddZsQ/U63ohjgA-aI/AAAAAAAACTo/WUlvrKXv59o/s1600/STEP+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rvVOcFddZsQ/U63ohjgA-aI/AAAAAAAACTo/WUlvrKXv59o/s1600/STEP+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After the bottom is sewn you will make a box bottom - spread the bottom open and I press only 1/2 of the seam allowance now and the other half when I am measuring the other side. One you have it spread out like this measure 2 inches from the tip of the triangle. Mark it with a pencil then lay your ruler down and draw a line -- this will be your stitching line --do the same to the other side -- this will make your bottom square<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y_wZqNJ7nh4/U63otzT6O7I/AAAAAAAACTw/NQWsNNXEpPY/s1600/STEP+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y_wZqNJ7nh4/U63otzT6O7I/AAAAAAAACTw/NQWsNNXEpPY/s1600/STEP+5.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Here is a picture of it open with the pins -- ready to sew at this point<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dzzsjDyI4D0/U63o7I19AzI/AAAAAAAACT4/Y3kLQSz-7is/s1600/STEP+6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dzzsjDyI4D0/U63o7I19AzI/AAAAAAAACT4/Y3kLQSz-7is/s1600/STEP+6.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here it is sewn -- sew the blue thread -- BEFORE you cut off the points make sure it is a nice bottom, try putting your tissue box inside -- after of course you turn it right side out! - It will be a bit snug and that is ok. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wA88ugipaSI/U63pDB21CFI/AAAAAAAACUA/tWxeiRgfmfM/s1600/STEP+7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wA88ugipaSI/U63pDB21CFI/AAAAAAAACUA/tWxeiRgfmfM/s1600/STEP+7.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now once it fits -- cut off your corners - your box will sit nice and steady on your table or desk<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y0cAeljaYE0/U63pTASO7kI/AAAAAAAACUQ/lItKBu_jUgA/s1600/STEP+9.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y0cAeljaYE0/U63pTASO7kI/AAAAAAAACUQ/lItKBu_jUgA/s1600/STEP+9.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zT735ajhpHQ/U63pNPCwDVI/AAAAAAAACUI/Tu2XCTLD7G0/s1600/STEP+8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zT735ajhpHQ/U63pNPCwDVI/AAAAAAAACUI/Tu2XCTLD7G0/s1600/STEP+8.JPG" height="240" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now it is time to make a little snip in the casing -- you will do this in the front (opposite side from the seam) Try to center it and when making your snip be careful to only go thru the top layer -- if you go thru both layers it is not the end of the world -- The next step is to thread the ribbon thru -- I use a large eye needle but you could use a safety pin it you prefer </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qUKv1z7hTos/U63nsO-D0SI/AAAAAAAACTA/CKnbI6Jbmec/s1600/STEP+10.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qUKv1z7hTos/U63nsO-D0SI/AAAAAAAACTA/CKnbI6Jbmec/s1600/STEP+10.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then put in your box of tissues and tie a bow! I am ready for the 4th of July!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qWeSr74Qcf8/U63nrH_cC7I/AAAAAAAACS4/8O_n55f3SUQ/s1600/STEP+11.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qWeSr74Qcf8/U63nrH_cC7I/AAAAAAAACS4/8O_n55f3SUQ/s1600/STEP+11.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This one matches my sewing room I hope you enjoy making these, they make great inexpensive gifts. <br />

<br />
Here is my very first tutorial -- I hope you enjoy making a composition cover. This tutorial was put together for the Quilt It Quick Saturday group -- I can't wait to see your pictures!<br />
<br />
What you need: 1 composition book (from the dollar store measures 7 1/2" x 9 3/4")<br />
Center square -- great for panels -- this one measures 7 1/2 inches **<br />
If you don't want to use a block or panel cut the center strip 5 x 15 1/2 inches <br />
Fabric for rectangles -- you need 12 rectangles 3" x 3 1/4"<br />
Fabric for the back of the journal - (center strip) 7 1/2 x 8 1/2 (you can make it a little longer and trim it - when you size it up with the lining -- I would cut it 7 1/2 x 9 inches<br />
Lining fabric cut 10 1/4" x 15 1/2 inches<br />
Inner flaps cut 2 10 1/4 x 10 1/2inches - fold in have and press so they measure 10 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches<br />
<br />
<br />
**If your center block measures 6 1/2 then make the the back of your journal measure 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 or 9 3/4. 6 1/2 inch is a very common size block and you might want to use an orphan block for this. <br />
<br />
Here is the fabrics I chose for this one: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-em9RsIt65mA/U2Qf8wctZwI/AAAAAAAACQ8/Ct4WmXTSZpE/s1600/TUT+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-em9RsIt65mA/U2Qf8wctZwI/AAAAAAAACQ8/Ct4WmXTSZpE/s1600/TUT+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I trimmed my panel to 7 1/4 inch square<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ee700uFY-Bw/U2QhBZSMZnI/AAAAAAAACRs/WK6XvAeDFE4/s1600/TUT+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ee700uFY-Bw/U2QhBZSMZnI/AAAAAAAACRs/WK6XvAeDFE4/s1600/TUT+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I then sewed my rectangles together -- here are the 12 I had cut.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xbdZpZevJE0/U2QhQcqj2oI/AAAAAAAACR0/oR1humVF5Z4/s1600/TUT+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xbdZpZevJE0/U2QhQcqj2oI/AAAAAAAACR0/oR1humVF5Z4/s1600/TUT+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
You sew them together on the 3 1/4 inch side - once this is sewn press to one direction<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mLU5RvH6JEo/U2QhaHAiCFI/AAAAAAAACR8/oCvicWfIJ0M/s1600/TUT+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mLU5RvH6JEo/U2QhaHAiCFI/AAAAAAAACR8/oCvicWfIJ0M/s1600/TUT+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then sew the back of the composition book (mine is the green) to the panel -- if you don't want to use a panel or extra block -- just cut a 5 x 15 1/2 inch strip <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4EiuoenmlFE/U2QhjpwgprI/AAAAAAAACSE/ROUrLd33JY8/s1600/TUT+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4EiuoenmlFE/U2QhjpwgprI/AAAAAAAACSE/ROUrLd33JY8/s1600/TUT+5.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now sew the center strip to the rectangles for the top and bottom -- Press.<br />
. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5ZAwDZimYu0/U2Qhyty5e-I/AAAAAAAACSM/EOsU3mvW_ag/s1600/TUT+6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5ZAwDZimYu0/U2Qhyty5e-I/AAAAAAAACSM/EOsU3mvW_ag/s1600/TUT+6.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This will be larger than you need -- that is ok always better to have a larger piece to trim down then a too small piece -- Now trim you top (this is now the top of the composition book) to 10 1/4 from top to bottom -- you might want to make this 10 1/2 inches to make not so tight - the 10 1/4 inch cover is tight. <br />
so cut it 10 1/2 or 10 1/4 inches x 15 1/2 or 15 3/4 for a less tight fit. <br />
so it should measure either 10 1/4 x 15 1/2 or 10 1/2 x 15 3/4 for a little roomy fit.<br />
<b>BE SURE TO CENTER THE CENTER STRIP WHEN YOU TRIM THE TOP AND BOTTOM </b><br />
<b> </b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wxJbovV530E/U2Qh6d0C0iI/AAAAAAAACSU/g16bajLuU-E/s1600/TUT+7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wxJbovV530E/U2Qh6d0C0iI/AAAAAAAACSU/g16bajLuU-E/s1600/TUT+7.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These are the two flaps that hold it all together --- they should already be folded in and again you can cut these a little large if you like. They should be either 10 1/2 x 5 1/4 or 10 1/4 x 5 1/4 - depending on how tight you want them to fit. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lCQdlSkOXKc/U2QiDwoYe-I/AAAAAAAACSc/k40lIreo1Ew/s1600/TUT+8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lCQdlSkOXKc/U2QiDwoYe-I/AAAAAAAACSc/k40lIreo1Ew/s1600/TUT+8.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now we are almost done -- lay your top down facing up -- then place your flaps raw edges together on the ends and then cover with the lining right sides together. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zr9XU4loGO0/U2QiKMTDyjI/AAAAAAAACSk/EAcBZxMvEpU/s1600/TUT+9.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zr9XU4loGO0/U2QiKMTDyjI/AAAAAAAACSk/EAcBZxMvEpU/s1600/TUT+9.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the same green for the flaps and the lining but there are 3 layers here -- I pin in the corners.<br />
Now sew around the edge -- remember to leave an opeinng in the bottom for turning.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-APwv689ZrW8/U2QgG5EFt1I/AAAAAAAACRE/T-3WHEfx9Wk/s1600/TUT+10.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-APwv689ZrW8/U2QgG5EFt1I/AAAAAAAACRE/T-3WHEfx9Wk/s1600/TUT+10.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
All sewed up -- just turn right sides out and press <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Another week gone, but several things in the works and a few things done! Weather still is not that nice out, I am just so anxious to get out to the garage and start painting frames and furniture for the flea market in May -- Looks like the end of the week I can start that. <br />
<br />
But in the mean time, I have been busy sewing -- Sherri over at A Quilting Life Blog sponsors the small project of the month - this month was a churn dash table runner -- Since they are small projects, I am using up some of my smaller pieces of fabric -- it is a win win I get a nice project done and I get rid of something in my sewing room :) <br />
Here is this months -- really like the way it turned out It is very springy -- yellow with red hearts and then a small dot print with green and red dots. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DAsahZDsTtQ/U0PJ_b2n03I/AAAAAAAACP8/_rQtXfzzyfw/s1600/Churn+dash+runner+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DAsahZDsTtQ/U0PJ_b2n03I/AAAAAAAACP8/_rQtXfzzyfw/s1600/Churn+dash+runner+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Just to show how much was left of the yellow print -- here are the few little pieces I had left -- I put them right in the dog bed I am stuffing with scraps. I even had to piece the binding.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1pzpNN_hpSM/U0PKJvMu7gI/AAAAAAAACQM/2CBefxIX25Q/s1600/Churn+dash+table+runner+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1pzpNN_hpSM/U0PKJvMu7gI/AAAAAAAACQM/2CBefxIX25Q/s1600/Churn+dash+table+runner+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Saturday I was part of a group on Facebook -- where they were making mug rugs and little baskets -- I did not get a good picture of the basket but here is the mug rug -- yup it matches my sewing room perfectly! <br />
I actually made 2 -- One for me and one for my craft show box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4VQbTsUMI7U/U0PKDOznfpI/AAAAAAAACQE/xliJ3lFymuk/s1600/Lady+Bug+Mug+Rug+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4VQbTsUMI7U/U0PKDOznfpI/AAAAAAAACQE/xliJ3lFymuk/s1600/Lady+Bug+Mug+Rug+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Sunday we went to brunch where they have lots of animals and the peacocks were eating right near the door, the colors are so vibrant on these birds.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-OLikojRSU/U0PKhr4EV6I/AAAAAAAACQc/vhWjh_5I8Zg/s1600/Peacock+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-OLikojRSU/U0PKhr4EV6I/AAAAAAAACQc/vhWjh_5I8Zg/s1600/Peacock+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I thought he was going to flash his feathers but no such luck.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1KIros-eu2A/U0PKcueS1vI/AAAAAAAACQU/Phq0cYHSpxc/s1600/Peacock+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1KIros-eu2A/U0PKcueS1vI/AAAAAAAACQU/Phq0cYHSpxc/s1600/Peacock+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Poochie stayed home and we made a stop at Goodwill and they are selling new pet items at the one we stopped at so -- we had to get her a treat -- it is a rubber chicken and she loves it ALOT!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HFSqnvZnwTM/U0PKpTLYhyI/AAAAAAAACQk/6p0y-htbrEg/s1600/Poochie+and+her+chicken+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HFSqnvZnwTM/U0PKpTLYhyI/AAAAAAAACQk/6p0y-htbrEg/s1600/Poochie+and+her+chicken+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
She takes it to bed and brings it down each morning -- and is very protective of h er chicken. I just love this picture of her.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CihWht6EvFo/U0PKxodVbJI/AAAAAAAACQs/bXtr3GRwkqc/s1600/Poochie+and+her+chicken+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CihWht6EvFo/U0PKxodVbJI/AAAAAAAACQs/bXtr3GRwkqc/s1600/Poochie+and+her+chicken+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I hope your having a good week! Thanks for stopping!<br />

<br />
How has your week been? Hard to believe it is Sunday night again -- these weeks just fly by. Looks like<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spring might be here -- well at least it was here for today -- I just heard the forecast and it looks like we have rain moving in tomorrow and it will be here most of the week. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did get some sewing down this week - I worked on some applique towels, but I could not get the picture loaded, I have a new camera and it is taking a bit longer to get used to it than I thought it would be.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is one of the Easter baskets I made up this afternoon, it is from the Sew It Magazine, it has lots</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
of great ideas that are simple and quick and that is always good in my book.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RPUvpE74vqo/UzjKONmuHmI/AAAAAAAACPE/2_eJ-Kj86e8/s1600/Easter+basket+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RPUvpE74vqo/UzjKONmuHmI/AAAAAAAACPE/2_eJ-Kj86e8/s1600/Easter+basket+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Saturday the Quilting and Sewing Expo was nearby so I headed over there with 5 other quilting buddies<br />
and we spend the day oohhh and aaahhh ing over all the neat quilts -- here is a little eye candy from the show.<br />
<br />
This is a simple 9 patch bordered, very simple but really nice looking.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YQmz8UZZg5k/UzjKGELRk6I/AAAAAAAACO8/jeC9L77Lq7c/s1600/Blakc+brown+quilt.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YQmz8UZZg5k/UzjKGELRk6I/AAAAAAAACO8/jeC9L77Lq7c/s1600/Blakc+brown+quilt.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
This one was a quilt made in the 30s or 40s and was found at an Estate sale and was machine quilted -- it was beautiful. The colors and the quilting -- I am sure the quilt maker is smiling down that her quilt got finished, finally.<br />
They had about 15 quilts from the 30's and 40's - that were recently discovered and completed, it was so nice to see. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgL0qTTT2v0/UzjKPfut7cI/AAAAAAAACPM/0rU_NVa0OPY/s1600/Green+30%27s+Qiult.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgL0qTTT2v0/UzjKPfut7cI/AAAAAAAACPM/0rU_NVa0OPY/s1600/Green+30's+Qiult.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This Grandmas flower garden was also a recently completed quilt.<br />
I just love hexies! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0tPnI0ldCA4/UzjKZODIXlI/AAAAAAAACPU/_u1WO3RC0L0/s1600/Hexie+quilt.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0tPnI0ldCA4/UzjKZODIXlI/AAAAAAAACPU/_u1WO3RC0L0/s1600/Hexie+quilt.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This one is simply stunning -- all tiny pieces - and it looks like it was painted. I will have more to share this week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ijtelLonsu4/UzjKiO7f5SI/AAAAAAAACPc/q3VidMiDdV4/s1600/Lion+Quilt.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ijtelLonsu4/UzjKiO7f5SI/AAAAAAAACPc/q3VidMiDdV4/s1600/Lion+Quilt.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This afternoon after we got back from fishing, where the lake was still partially frozen and we caught nothing, I think they were still hibernating, I got up to my sewing room and was looking thru a box of projects that needed some work -- it was a box I created when I revamped it in Decemeber. I came across these Posie blocks, I started these when my mom was first diagnosed with cancer and I worked on them at her Chemo appointments -- I started these 14 years ago -- that is right FOURTEEN years ago -- they are from a Fons and Porter magazine from 2000! I just did the math and that is about when she was diagnosed. I have got to get this done -- I only had 5 done and need 20 -- I have all the leaves and flower center fused and I just need to get some more of the petals fused And YES I have kept the background fabric with the project, so I have plenty of that. I am gonna finish this one this year. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wmyBTiRVZT0/UzjKynHqCfI/AAAAAAAACPs/APcBDzarmlo/s1600/Ruthies+Posies+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wmyBTiRVZT0/UzjKynHqCfI/AAAAAAAACPs/APcBDzarmlo/s1600/Ruthies+Posies+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d2yh2NbFY-0/UzjKrPOxlLI/AAAAAAAACPk/rhqmdbn2Pi4/s1600/Ruthies+Posies+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d2yh2NbFY-0/UzjKrPOxlLI/AAAAAAAACPk/rhqmdbn2Pi4/s1600/Ruthies+Posies+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The photo above is the 3 I fused today and I got one stitched during the Amazing Race -- my goal is to fuse them all and then have a great take a long project this summer. Or a tv project.<br />
Well that is about all for tonight. <br />
Hope your quilting is going well!<br />Thanks for stopping by!<br />

<br />
Spring arrived on Thursday and of course we had snow! Hoping it was the last snow of the year but the weather man is predicting snow for Monday night -- not quite sure when Spring will Spring up around here.<br />
<br />
I have been busy working on projects so the weather is not bothering me at all.<br />
<br />
I was painting a few birdhouses this weekend I have 3 more to paint and then I will have a box out of the garage! I have already put a few down by the creek and will put these down there by next weekend. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SsdVy4n1Zyw/Uy-qyDa0A1I/AAAAAAAACOE/lMQOt1s0N5A/s1600/Birdhouses.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SsdVy4n1Zyw/Uy-qyDa0A1I/AAAAAAAACOE/lMQOt1s0N5A/s1600/Birdhouses.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Went to a friends house on Friday night and we sewed for several hours, I got my little gingerbread boy bound! At least I have one next item for Christmas this year! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gs8gQhHUfNU/Uy-q1en5lJI/AAAAAAAACOM/hu6qjQ3Ri6E/s1600/Gingerbread+boy+quilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gs8gQhHUfNU/Uy-q1en5lJI/AAAAAAAACOM/hu6qjQ3Ri6E/s1600/Gingerbread+boy+quilt.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I had quilted Harvey the Hare last month and was hoping to finish him when we were up north a few weeks back we were too busy up there -- so Friday night I put all of his buttons and his face on and he is now hung up in the entry way -- He is about a 10 year old UFO -- so glad to check him off the list -- 3rd UFo of the year -- he is a big on 21 inches x 53 inches long.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oP2ZweXvd2Q/Uy-q18EaTcI/AAAAAAAACOQ/QexH084wCcs/s1600/Harvey+the+Hare+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oP2ZweXvd2Q/Uy-q18EaTcI/AAAAAAAACOQ/QexH084wCcs/s1600/Harvey+the+Hare+2.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
I also took my Schnibbles there and I bound this one up too! I measures only 20 inches square but another one is done and won't be turning into a UFO.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6wSn2uuebmo/Uy-q8wFkAHI/AAAAAAAACOk/GvbYK6jLyjs/s1600/Spin+City+Schnibbles+Completed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6wSn2uuebmo/Uy-q8wFkAHI/AAAAAAAACOk/GvbYK6jLyjs/s1600/Spin+City+Schnibbles+Completed.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d2HWjKJajxg/Uy-q5GaJmVI/AAAAAAAACOc/Ov8WaIhhp0s/s1600/Bunny+for+Hospice.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d2HWjKJajxg/Uy-q5GaJmVI/AAAAAAAACOc/Ov8WaIhhp0s/s1600/Bunny+for+Hospice.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I stayed up last night and worked on my Hospice project -- BUNS (baking up nice surprises) - they will e delivered the first week of April -- I have 3 dozen done and 9 more dozen too complete -- goal is to get them all done this week, it would be nice to be a little ahead --<br />
<br />
Well off to bed, 4:30 comes very early!<br />
Thanks for Stopping by<br />

<br />
Yesterday was National Quilting Day -- so I did work on a quilt challenge from Pat Sloans Facebook group -- it was the Shoo Fly block -- we were to make 20 and use our stash -- first I was going to use a variety of blues but then came across 3 fat quarters of 1 print and I thought I would use those up and all the white is various small pieces, so good to use them in something. And the blue for the sashing I had just a 1 1/2 inch strip left -- so some pieces are totally used from my stash -- I wish I had a little more for the outer border -- I have searched my stash and found nothing that would make a final border on this quilt. Not sure if I will keep it this size or try to find a fabric that looks nice for the final border. I was up til after midnight working on this and cutting up some of the flannel I bought back on Black Friday for baby bibs, burp cloths and receiving blanket - it was good to reduce that stack as well.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vuwuaPuKgE4/UyZUpXdzFVI/AAAAAAAACNE/oNNZZWUz418/s1600/Shoo+Fly+Quilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vuwuaPuKgE4/UyZUpXdzFVI/AAAAAAAACNE/oNNZZWUz418/s1600/Shoo+Fly+Quilt.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
We also went out for corn beef and cabbage, the next town over has a little dinner that is charity type event, we pre bought our tickets and since it was from 11:30 - 5 -- we thought 3 would be a good time, well we got there at 3 and they were all sold out! WOW - we have gone to this the past few years and saw an increase in attendance each year -- but never thought they would be sold out -- how depressing! So we came home and searched the internet and found a dinner at a VFW hall about a half hour away and we headed over there when it started - we weren't missing out twice in one day!! And had a delicious dinner with dessert. <br />
<br />
Today I had purchased a gift certificate thru a radio station for a thrift shop so we headed over there and to Goodwill -- a great way to spend a Sunday in my eyes!<br />
<br />
At Goodwill I found this kids rocker -- for $4.99 - wait it gets better -- Furniture was 50% off ! So I walked away with this goodie for $2.50! I am going to paint it pink and paint some flowers on it. Too cute!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V2EogoL9kjs/UyZUxhuXQuI/AAAAAAAACNM/o3-Po90R4cI/s1600/Childs+rocker.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V2EogoL9kjs/UyZUxhuXQuI/AAAAAAAACNM/o3-Po90R4cI/s1600/Childs+rocker.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Between both thrift shops I purchased these tin for our Garden Faire in May -- I think these will all look cute with some plants potted in them -- the most expensive one was the loaf pan 99 cents -- Have some great ideas for some neat planting in these.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Also got this little planter for $1.20 -- I sprayed it with clear coat when I got home and drilled some holes for drainage, did that on the metal items too. </div>

<br />
I did work on some things for our garden sale -- it is in May but once the weather gets nice I will be outside and in the garage painting, so I had some time this weekend and found these little shoes when I did the over haul of my sewing room in December, I was going to make pincushions, but I have plenty of those -- so I thought they were adorable with the hens and chicks in them.<br />
<br />
We will be having a "Fairy Garden" demo and selling Fairy Gardens at our Garden Faire, so I painted up these little rocks as lady bugs -- I made some of these when I was at the garden center - and they were quite popular -- hopefully folks will still like them. <br />

<br />
We have been watching my boss' dog, he is a 5 pound Yorkie named Petey -- when he is with us the house is very busy Poochie is like a teen - likes to do her own thing and hang out with us with out a lot of comotion, well Petey on the other hand is like a new born -- needs lots of attention and is very busy -- apparently he was a little tired and he and Poochie decided to take a nap in the sun! What a wonderful life.<br />
What have you been up to?<br />
<br />
Happy Stitches!<br />

<br />
I am participating in A Quilting Lifes Small Project of the Month and our challenge this month was to create a quilt or project from this quilt block (the flower) I has this fabric for several years just waiting for the perfect project and here it is. It is a small table topper -- perfect for the table in our entry way. It is a garden theme fabric -- the yellow border has little garden trowels in it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-skaDq92xFLk/Uxx-yU2_a-I/AAAAAAAACMw/5pYCPzlQdcg/s1600/Small+Project+tablerunner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-skaDq92xFLk/Uxx-yU2_a-I/AAAAAAAACMw/5pYCPzlQdcg/s1600/Small+Project+tablerunner.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now on to the BOM's I am in ..... Here is the March Aurfil Block -- it was very easy and a fun block to make.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e_mapCBIWUc/Uxx-pHYr16I/AAAAAAAACMY/1-2g67VQGIA/s1600/Aufill+BOM+March.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e_mapCBIWUc/Uxx-pHYr16I/AAAAAAAACMY/1-2g67VQGIA/s1600/Aufill+BOM+March.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here are all 3 so far, I am liking hoe this is going.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qwQxY8CttOQ/Uxx-lsK7__I/AAAAAAAACMI/GGg2RDus3SM/s1600/Aurfil+BOM+all+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qwQxY8CttOQ/Uxx-lsK7__I/AAAAAAAACMI/GGg2RDus3SM/s1600/Aurfil+BOM+all+3.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This project if from Pat Sloans Globetrotting Project - these are the three so far we have done. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QkiGE1ss0PI/Uxx-okfXLEI/AAAAAAAACMU/yHWT65tsHw8/s1600/Globetrotting+3+blocks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QkiGE1ss0PI/Uxx-okfXLEI/AAAAAAAACMU/yHWT65tsHw8/s1600/Globetrotting+3+blocks.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This block is called Chicago and it was Marchs BOM -- really like this one -- it went together easy and would make a great quilt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RLRXFh56crI/Uxx-saLgO3I/AAAAAAAACMg/3KyrtGLi0UM/s1600/Globetrotting+Chicago+Block.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RLRXFh56crI/Uxx-saLgO3I/AAAAAAAACMg/3KyrtGLi0UM/s1600/Globetrotting+Chicago+Block.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On to the one that took me the longest about 3 hours last night -- it is Quilt Doodles block of the month - it measures 16 x 20 and it alot of 2 1/2 inch squares -- I think my tree turned out good - I was debating between greens last night and these 4 seemed to work well together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8twBENGQBGc/Uxx-wY9USaI/AAAAAAAACMo/TT0eEXeB3ys/s1600/Quilt+Doodle+Tree+Block.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8twBENGQBGc/Uxx-wY9USaI/AAAAAAAACMo/TT0eEXeB3ys/s1600/Quilt+Doodle+Tree+Block.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
I also quilted up this table topper and I will bind it this week during tv time -- it is a barbeque theme -- trying to get a few things done for the show in May -- it will be here before I know it -- still too cold to paint the furniture I have collected this winter - so I will be sewing more today and hopefully next weekend it will warm up so I ca at least figure out what I have and what needs to be done. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gjeSEOCIpS8/Uxx-09TEslI/AAAAAAAACM4/RdjdaWXclmc/s1600/Table+runner+bbq.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gjeSEOCIpS8/Uxx-09TEslI/AAAAAAAACM4/RdjdaWXclmc/s1600/Table+runner+bbq.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So what are you working on? <br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />
Happy Stitches<br />

<br />
How have you been? I have been sewing up a storm this past weekend. And the last 2 nights stitching on binding on table runners for fall-- really trying to be a little ahead for the fall shows!<br />
<br />
I am participating in the Aurifill BOM this month was the basket type block and the spool block is from January -- I purchased the fabric at a fabric estate sale last year -- it was a fat quarter bundle -- finally something to do with them! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9AE9OhXHj0I/Uw1o7GWukBI/AAAAAAAACK0/REadABj0GkY/s1600/Aurifill+BOM+Jan+&+Feb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9AE9OhXHj0I/Uw1o7GWukBI/AAAAAAAACK0/REadABj0GkY/s1600/Aurifill+BOM+Jan+&+Feb.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is just the Feb block. I am liking the pink and greens :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FzWRlO5-tR8/Uw1o_O0lSrI/AAAAAAAACK8/gzT-7hsv1O4/s1600/Aurilfill+block+of+the+month+February.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FzWRlO5-tR8/Uw1o_O0lSrI/AAAAAAAACK8/gzT-7hsv1O4/s1600/Aurilfill+block+of+the+month+February.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I am also involved in the Quilt Doodles block or row of the month -- January was the row of snowman and this month is a cabin -- this is the basic cabin -- I still need to add some extras - like snow - shutters and maybe lace curtains. Love to embellish blocks it really makes them "yours".<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Eanj9VGevMA/Uw1pSA5RHHI/AAAAAAAACL0/P1qRzL8S4mA/s1600/cabin+block.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Eanj9VGevMA/Uw1pSA5RHHI/AAAAAAAACL0/P1qRzL8S4mA/s1600/cabin+block.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I have been working on some of last years Easter projects that did not get done on time, I had the cute little bunny done, I just needed a towel and then a little embellishment of rick rack -- so darn cute and so Spring like -- hopefully someday we will have Spring! The other one is just a little wallhanging that I started last year -- used up a little fabric and I have a great little gift to mail out for Easter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LZDrvXWjSH8/Uw1pEBhFP-I/AAAAAAAACLM/LyZapWfiDQY/s1600/Easter+Bunny+wallhanging.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LZDrvXWjSH8/Uw1pEBhFP-I/AAAAAAAACLM/LyZapWfiDQY/s1600/Easter+Bunny+wallhanging.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RnMA9xCITEk/Uw1pBKFR3bI/AAAAAAAACLE/CIRcnkCU7XY/s1600/Bunny+Towel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RnMA9xCITEk/Uw1pBKFR3bI/AAAAAAAACLE/CIRcnkCU7XY/s1600/Bunny+Towel.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
WOW this is a long "Show N Tell" post -- another project of the month is the Pat Sloan Globetrotting project, the large block is the first block (26 inches) and the smaller block is the February block. I have never worked with red, white and grey and I am enjoying working with some new colors.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jJYJzIyRtuQ/Uw1pG4dNPmI/AAAAAAAACLU/0wgrSm0riqw/s1600/Globetrotting+block+February.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jJYJzIyRtuQ/Uw1pG4dNPmI/AAAAAAAACLU/0wgrSm0riqw/s1600/Globetrotting+block+February.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And here is my Schnibbles for the month -- it is our choice this month and this pattern came out of Carries Book -- again using a group of fat quarters that I rec'd from a friend -- I only made 4 blocks instead of the 16 for the regular size Schnibble -- but this will look great on our table this summer and I am trying to make things we can use. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-41df3ZE5XpQ/Uw1pME-7XFI/AAAAAAAACLk/kpR880l2gAk/s1600/Schnibble+for+February.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-41df3ZE5XpQ/Uw1pME-7XFI/AAAAAAAACLk/kpR880l2gAk/s1600/Schnibble+for+February.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And last but not least - Pat Sloan on her Quilting with Pat Sloan Facebook page has challenged us to use up some scraps - I think this is monthly also -- not sure this just started. The block she selected for this project was the Shoo Fly block and we are to make 20 blocks - I was going to use a variety of blues til I went into my blue bin and found 3 fat quarters of this blue and then I found a small piece of a perfect gold for the center square and for the white tone on tone I am using up those little pieces we save - I think this project going forward will really help use up some of those smaller pieces -- and my goal is to only use scraps or what I have for this group -- truly need to use up some fabric and I know I have had this fabric from 2007 -- that is what it says on the salvage -yes I have older fabric than that too but I have to start somewhere! LOL <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And finally a picture of my girl Poochie -- this was taken the last snow storm we had a few weeks ago around Valentines day -- she has her Valentines day bandana on! Yes the snow was super deep -- we had since had rain and a little snow and now we are back in the below zero range! Oh my this is so good for u s quilters to get lots done, but my oh my when will spring come! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did start a few seeds indoors this weekend, with hopes that spring and summer will eventually arrive! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you for visiting! See you soon and Sew lots!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
