Potholder Pass THANK YOU!

Good Morning
I was off for the last 2 days -- weather has been just horrible, rain every day and guess what more rain today! But a little sunshine did get to my house, thanks to Karen AKA AppleKrisp from my Potholder Pass group-- I signed up for the both the potholder and bag swap this time and I was and still am in total AMAZEMENT at what arrived yesterday.
Not only did she send me a 2 wonderful chicken potholders that I LOVE LOVE LOVE! And a really cool Sunflower bag, that will really make my trips to the grocery store much more sunny even on rainy days!! But this box was choked full of goodies, I did take a photo of the goodies except for the chocolate coated peeps and chocolate eggs, Dear Hubby was home and he managed to get the bags of snacks opened before I could get the camera!!
Karen sent me, a wonderful chicken table runner, chicken embrodiery tranfsers, a really neat folding storage box, that is in a bright green color ( I love it) a cute duck mug, I see a mug rug being made to match, the mug is so cute and springy! Also a chicken tissue holder for my purse, and I have a chicken purse that it will go perfectly in.
In this picture is a neat candle in a can so bright it matches my kitchen perfectly! A chicken coupon keeper, perfect because I was using old envelopes!! And some chicken rub ons - I think I might make some signs for my kitchen or garden. I hope I told you about everything. Thank you so much!!
WOW after that - you wonder what else I did on my days off.....well this weekend we are having a wedding shower for my niece who is getting married in July.....so here is a peek at what she is getting for a present.....yes I made some of those 10 minute table runners, and they take a bit longer, I do use batting with them and so a small amount of quilting, but they are cute and I think she will like them. She lives in Maine so we rarely see her and I really have no idea what her tastes are, so I made just holiday type ones. I am much closer to the nieces that live nearby - she had not lived here for about 15 years so we occassionly see her at a family wedding or something maybe every few years -- very hard to shop for someone you don't know all that well.
Hopefully she will like the table toppers.

Well I promise to blog more, I really have missed it and I have lots of new ideas to show you - I did alot of stuff in the creation station in the past few days.
But for now I am off to work!

It has been awhile!

Good Morning!

WOW - this is what happens when I go back to work at the garden center, my blogging doesn't happen - last week was rough lots of deliveries at the garden center and I was pooped out when I got home.

I had Sunday and Monday off this week, and the weather here has been just awful! So I sewed my little heart out. This is the Le Petite project for April -- I still need to add the final border, but I am out of the pink fabric, so I have to make a run to JoAnns and then I can complete this. But I am happy with as far as I have gotten. So springy I just love it.

Here is my March Birdie of the Month....
Still need to make Aprils, maybe I will embrodier tonight while I watch Dancing with the Stars Results.

And here is a little credit card holder that I just got the pattern for....It is so easy I made 2 but I need to get large snaps, see they are being held closed with a pin!! But I did not want to run to JoAnns and take away from my sewing time. So one night after work this week I run and pick up what I need and be able to complete these.

Other than that not much going on. Just working.

Hope all is well with you!

Opening Day - A sure sign of spring!

WOW it is has been a little bit since I have posted. We have been super busy, I helped dear hubby with a drywall, taping project last weekend and I helped out the garden center at a few home and garden shows, all this while working at my temp job. I have not been able to sew much at all :( But this weekend is a free weekend and I plan to get some stuff done. Can't believe it is April 1st! And that brings me to my headline.....It is Opening Day for my beloved Cubbies today, I won't be going to the game today, my niece almost had me talked into buying high priced tickets last night and escaping for the day to Wrigley, but as much as my heart wants to be there, my head said, no go to work and save the dollars! WOW I hate being sensible. I did of course sign up for text messages at the end of every inning so I can keep track of the scores! Technology ya gotta love it.
I will be at work today, dressed in my Cubbie Blues and you might even catch me singing Go Cubs Go around 1:20 today....and checking my phone for scores. And of course be thinking about good ol number 10 today, first opener without him. Sure do miss hearing him during spring training games. I am sure he is smiling down and I bet if there is a mishap I will be able to hear Boy O Boy!

Off to get ready for work!

National Quilting Day & Friday Night Sew In

Happy Sunday Morning!

What did you do for National Quilting day? Me not too much quilty..I did get to go to my BOM but had to leave and then go over to work at the Garden Center booth at the local home and garden show expo. It was fun seeing our customers and they get a kick out of seeing us not covered in dirt and sweat like we are in the summer, I guess we do clean up pretty good!

We had a challenge at the BOM - we rec'd a fat quarter last month and was to make something with it.... This is what I completed. Just a simple little bag and on the inside the way it is folded and constructed you end up with 4 pockets on the inside. I think I will do a tutorial on it this coming week, it is really fun and quick.

I used an old clip on earing for the embellishment. Kinda fun.

Hubby now has the bronchitis that I had last week, so I am still coughing and he is definetly infected and on drugs, so hopefully by the middle of the week he should be better and we can tidy up this house once again!

Well off to the garden show, ttyl!

Here's what I have been up to

Hello!

I got the day off of work today! Yippee! I am really not happy there, and can't wait to go back to the garden center. It was a nice change of pace having an extra day off so I thought I would work in the Creation Station today.

I spent some time cleaning up in there. It was time for that.

Here is the Thimbleberrie Star top I was telling you about the other day, I put the blocks together and the borders on...then went to quilt it and No batting that would work- I have small pieces and long thin pieces for table runners - I am going to stop at JoAnns tomorrow on my way to work or on my way home and get a package of batting -- so I can get this done this coming weekend.

During breaks at work I have been cutting out bunny ears and noses. I make these little bunny egss for the Hospice and the Senior Center here in town. I need 184 done. Today I completed 2 dozen. I shop after Easter and get the eggs so cheap and they are cute -- I fill them with jelly beans. I hope they bring a smile to those who receive them.

Here is my pincushion for the Swappy Pincushion swap. The green is from a wool sweater that I got at the trhift shop and then felted. It is a nice big pincushion, I hope my swap partner likes it.

Well back to the Creation Station!
